OCTOBER 7 – World Day of Decent Work

The International Labour Organization declared October 7 the World Day for Decent Work as a response to staggeringly growing inequality and immiseration of the global working class. The university is an institution existing in an world HigherEdMillB28.3_3rgb-838x838order motivated by for-profit imperatives and as such cannot escape the pressures to adapt to such an economic and social environment. The pressure to operate the post-secondary sector as a service industry oriented business is mounting yet the post-sec governing structures  work in compliance with such detrimental development. There are many casualties in this process.   At Brock our local will hold a table in MC A hallway to raise awareness about the precarious conditions of the part time instructors we represent.
