This is one of the most important general meetings of the year!
We will be electing Bargaining Committee for Unit 1. Five members who would represent the Unit in negotiations of the new collective agreement with the employer.
Any member in good standing can run for the position. Yet familiarity with the general labour relations regime and Unit 1 collective agreement and our working conditions is very necessary for this position in order to have a strong bargaining team.
Training is provided by CUPE National. Bargaining Committee members must allow for the time commitment that this position requires. The position is stipended and lasts until the new collective agreement is ratified.
