There will be an election for three (3) Returning Officers at the March GMM. $250 for out-of-pocket expenses will be provided to each Returning Officer after the April Annual General Meeting.
An Elections Officer can not be a person who is on the ballot for any CUPE 4207 Elections.
The ballot will contain any and all contested elections for:
– Executive Positions
– Niagara District CUPE Council Delegate Positions
– Niagara Regional Labour Council Delegate Positions
– Deputy H&S Officer
– Marilyn I. Walker JHSC rep
– Alternate for JHSC meetings
In conjunction with our CUPE National rep, the Elections Officers will run the March 18 Elections Forum. Training will be provided on how to conduct a vote using the SimplyVoting platform. Voting will open 24 hours after the Elections Forum for a period of 48 hours. All Members in Good Standing at the start of the Elections Forum are eligible to vote.The Elections Committee will announce the results at the April AGM.
The position of Returning Officer requires availability for meetings between the GMM and the Election Forum to create the elections ballot, facilitation of the March 18 Elections Forum with the National rep, and attendance at the April 16 Annual General Meeting to announce the results of the election.
