Unit 3 Bargaining Committee

Phil Wachel

Hello! My name is Phil Wachel and I am excited to be on the Unit 3 bargaining committee once again. I have been a member of all five previous bargaining committees. In the past, I served the English as a Second Language profession as a member of the TESL Ontario Accreditation Committee and later as TESL Ontario’s Vice Chair.

John Villella

Hello! I’m John Villella. I’ve been teaching as an English for Subsequent Languages Instructor at Brock since 2004, where I also earned my TESL certificate. I am now beginning my third consecutive term as Steward for Unit 3, and I’m proud to continue serving our members in this role.

As part of the Bargaining Team, I am committed to showing up with diligence, transparency, and a strong voice for our collective needs. I’m ready to listen, collaborate, and advocate to ensure every member feels represented and supported. Together, we can work toward a fair and equitable agreement that strengthens our unit and honours the work we do.

Gloria Leahey

Hello my name is Gloria Leahey.  I bargained for Unit 3 in our most recent round in 2023 and am proud to serve on the 2026 team. I am also the Chair of 4207’s Bargaining Research Committee and a member of the Health, Safety and Wellness Committee.

Georgina Keller

Hello. My name is Georgina Keller. I have been a member of CUPE 4207 since 2011 – unit 3, when we joined our fellow union members as a new unit. I have been teaching in ESL Services since 2008, and for Goodman School of business since 2012. I am a Brock graduate with an MA in Linguistics – TESL. During our first CA for unit 3, I determinedly walked the picket line everyday, all day, to force the employer to honour the CA they had originally signed off on, but were trying to renege. I have had the privilege of being the VP of ESL, representing the unit 2 and 3 members for the last 5 years. I was on the Bargaining Support Team in the last round of bargaining. I have attended training for note-taking and parliamentary procedure. I have been to CUPE Spring School and attended two CUPE Ontario conventions and been part of voting for resolutions and executive positions. I will work diligently with the BC to have a fair CA for unit 3 members.
