Unit 1 Votes to Ratify Tentative Agreement

The Unit 1 Ratification Vote results are in:

70.5% Voted YES to ratify the tentative agreement with the Employer.

What happens next?

We have notified the employer of the result of our vote. The employer will bring the agreement to the Board of Trustees for ratification. Once both sides have ratified, the agreement will be implemented. We will share the finalized agreement with Unit 1 members as soon as it is available, and provide information about wage increases, increased benefits funding contributions from employer, and grad-student supplement increases. We would expect a retro-pay amount in a few weeks (but no later than 90 days).

Thank you to all members who participated in the ratification vote.

Together we are stronger!

2026 Anti-Oppression Training: Microaggressions

2026 Anti-Oppression Training: Microaggressions
Wed, January 28th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm
On Campus: Register in advance for location
Facilitator: Dr. Neivin Shalabi

Microaggressions can be hard to recognize, difficult to name, and even harder to respond to in the moment. However, their impact is real and lasting. Join us for an anti-oppression presentation focused on understanding what microaggressions are, how they show up in our workplaces, classrooms, and union spaces, and why they matter.

This session will offer shared language, practical tools, and space for reflection, with a focus on how we can intervene, support one another, and build accountability without blame. Whether you’re new to these conversations or continuing ongoing anti-oppression work, this is an opportunity to learn together and strengthen our collective commitment to a more inclusive, respectful, and safer union for all members.

Register to reserve your seat. Room location will be provided upon confirmation of registration.

Unit 5 members have delivered a strong mandate: 86% voted YES.

Unit 5 members have delivered a strong mandate: 86% voted YES.

The Unit 5 Strike Mandate vote reflects a shared call for fair wages, job security, and reasonable class sizes that protect both workers and students. With conciliation set for Friday, January 23rd at the International Centre, we are urging the employer to come to the table prepared to address these priorities. Our members want a fair agreement, and they are united in standing up for quality education.

Learning Conditions Matter. Our Students Matter. Fair wages, job security, and reasonable class sizes are essential to maintaining high-quality education at Brock and in providing meaningful support to our students.
